Islam is a religion that came with a message of mercy and goodness for all of humanity. The word “Islam” itself means peace, safety, and submission. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad ﷺ], except as a mercy to the worlds.”
(Surah Al-Anbiya: 107)
This verse clearly tells us that the purpose of Islam is to provide love, kindness, and peace to all mankind.
The Qur’an’s Message of Peace
In many places, the Qur’an emphasizes reconciliation, gentleness, and justice. Allah says:
“Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.”
(Surah Al-Hujurat: 9)
Justice is the foundation of peace. Where there is justice, love and tranquility naturally prevail.
Teachings of the Prophet ﷺ
The Holy Prophet ﷺ presented the best example of peace and love through his blessed life. He said:
“None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)
This hadith shows that the real character of a Muslim is to become a source of love, kindness, and goodwill for others.
Good Conduct with Non-Muslims
Islam is not only for Muslims but for all of humanity. The Prophet ﷺ taught fairness, justice, and compassion even towards non-Muslims. The Constitution of Madinah is a clear example of this, where equal rights were given to everyone regardless of faith.
Conclusion
The true spirit of Islam is peace, love, and mercy. In today’s world, where hatred and extremism are spreading, it is necessary for us to show the world the real message of Islam through the Qur’an and Sunnah — a message that is nothing but peace and love.
